On Q Mares
Allianz (Armin)
Allianz is often described as "clever" and "schoolmaster". She is a one in a million. Not only is she as intelligent a horse that I have ever known, but she is very affectionate, concerned and has an extremely dry sense of humor. Does that sound strange? You would have to live with her to understand.
"Allie" is built uphill, very forward yet kind and considerate. This older mare, once warmed up has ton of "schwung" (swing). Schwung describes a containment and redirection of energy that allows forward movement which comes from the whole body lifting itself out of the restraints of gravity for a split-second with each step.
A schwung graced dressage horse gains increasingly more forward implusion from the hindquarters, and this, together with a well-developed topline, allows swing through the back and therefore move limbs freely and efficiently. This athletic power, losgelassenheit and subsequently, 'durchlassig' attitude allows submission with energy and ability to accomplish well the demands of the task at hand with artistic expression. This aids to achieve upper level quality of passage and canter pirouette.
Feiner Abend "Farrah" (Feiner Stern)
This is a VERY special 2003 mare. She has a temperament second to none! Farrah's legs/conformation/feet are to die for! This is what you want for a partner that will not break down due to faulty conformation. With over a thousand miles hiking on trails (starting at 6 months of age), heavily imprinted from birth, this girl has seen it all and handles well life as it comes. She is a star.
Farrah is starting competition in dressage as well as the hunter ring. She will be bred soon for a 2009 Sinatra Song foal.
California Dressage Society Yearling Filly 2004.
Considered for sale under extraordinary circumstances.
Fortunate Future (Fabuleux)
Fortune is World Class. We expect her to go far. She was born May 2006 and was Champion Foal of the 2006 American Hanoverian Society inspection at Creek Hollow Ranch in Ramona, California. Tall and elegant this girl moves like a dream.
Here are the comments Fortune received at inspection: ".....full bodied gal, VERY harmonious, nice neck head connection, nice neck into the back and whither, very harmonious over the top, strong hind leg, best movement seen today, most elasticity, able to carry it through, length of stride and lightness of the foot, rhythm, sitting quality, looks smooth to ride with enough horse out in front of you, power underneath coming up behind, size, when I see larger filly foal like this and full bodied as long as it is harmonious as long as it has lightness, good body, just a very nice type, need that length of leg and frame size and do not want to loose that, very nice foal, (comes back), free in the front coming up nicely behind carrying herself well over top, very lovely there is an art to this, isn't she pretty, still she looks feminine (talking about her large size}, the statuesque type, there is a look, this horse carries itself up behind and comes underneath......"
D'Lyte (Dauphin)
I am not sure exactly how I got lucky enough to own one of the most breathtakingly beautiful horses in the world. And this girl CAN move. D'Lyte was born 1/2007, imported at 10 months of age and is settling in well. As I expected from bloodlines, this girl is VERY smart. She has started kindergarten as do all our young ones and is doing well. She loves to learn and impresses everyone at not only what she is taught but what she figures out on her own. She is definitely in On Q's recipe for success in our breeding program.
